Learning how to take care of an aquarium takes alot of work. Plenty of people have failed at doing it. Here's 2 things you must avoid when creating your aquarium.
1) Avoid collecting rocks near or from the ocean shore even if your tank is filled with salt water.
The reason for this is because a fish tank is very different compared to the ocean. Therefor, it doesn't necessarily mash up. Also, with your own aquariums it doesn't hurt to get rocks from your local pet store.
2) Always remember to buy your materials that is fine for fish to use. Also, avoid purchasing second hand items because at anytime they could carry disease and end up having it spread like wildfire in your tank or aquarium.
